Automatic boot sanitizing station offers critical protection for facilities

September 25, 2013

Best Sanitizer boot washBest Sanitizers Inc. announces its new HACCP Defender™ Low-Moisture, Automatic Boot Sanitizing Station. The HACCP Defender adds an additional layer of pathogen protection for food processing facilities, nutraceutical plants, pharmaceutical plants, clinical research labs and clean rooms by reducing cross-contamination from footwear before employees enter the production area or other critical control zones. As an employee steps into the station, an infrared sensor closes the four pneumatic doors and delivers a finely atomized mist of Alpet® D2 Surface Sanitizer to the bottom of the worker's boots. This mist provides ample coverage to boots, yet uses only a small amount of chemical which results in reduced chemical waste and improved moisture control. This delivery method, combined with Alpet D2’s proven efficacy and highly evaporative properties, creates an effective solution for food processing plants where reducing pathogens and controlling moisture is critical.

Alpet D2 Surface Sanitizer is effectively used throughout the food processing industry for sanitizing tools, hard surfaces and water sensitive equipment. It is a 58% isopropyl alcohol/quaternary formulation that is a ready-to-use (RTU), no-rinse sanitizer, and is safe for use on food contact surfaces. Alpet D2 is a proven rubber boot and glove sanitizer, is NSF registered, Kosher certified and Pareve.

Hormel Foods’ Corporate Manager of Sanitation, Doug Craven states, “The best defense against pathogen growth niche development in our production areas is by limiting the potential ingress of the bacteria. The HACCP Defender allows us to consistently treat employees’ footwear prior to entering our low moisture production areas and help us reduce the risk of potential pathogen ingress.”

“This is a significant step forward for food processors looking for an added measure of pathogen reduction. Especially those processors concerned about moisture control.” added Ryan Witt, Best Sanitizers’ Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

The HACCP Defender uses a one-way, pass-through design to support traffic flow and further reduce cross-contamination. Adding a floor mat with dry sanitizing or cleaning powder provides a sure-footed surface for exiting the sanitizing station. The unit is constructed in the USA from 304 stainless steel and high quality components. Output from the six spray nozzles is adjustable allowing users to optimize chemical volume and performance of the system. The HACCP Defender measures 36”W x 38”L x 45”H. Set up it easy and requires standard power and access to compressed air.
