Rosina Food Products celebrates 50 years in business

News Brief Feature

In 1963, Rosina operated as a small storefront sausage shop in Buffalo, NY servicing neighborhood meat markets, supermarkets and restaurants. Fifty years later, Rosina Food Products, Inc. is the home of America’s #1 branded frozen meatball and has two production facilities that make more than 100 different frozen specialty products that are sold nationally and internationally!

This family-owned business was founded by James Corigliano and named after his wife Rose, which in Italian translates to Rosina. As the company continued to grow, sons Russell and Frank joined the business in the mid 1970’s. In 1997, Russell became President and CEO while Frank was named Executive Vice President. In the same roles today, they are involved in the day to day strategies to ensure the expected annual growth.

In March 2000, Rosina Holdings, Inc. acquired the assets of Celentano Bro Inc. – Celentano Food Products Inc. became the frozen pasta and entrée company, which is a natural fit to Rosina’s frozen meatball product offerings. In December of 2002, Rosina Food Products purchased a 90,000 sq. ft. facility in West Seneca, NY which has become the production facility for the ravioli, specialty pasta and entrées. In July of 2006 certain assets of Italian Village, a pasta company,  were acquired from High Liner Foods (USA), Inc. and moved to the West Seneca facility. In December 2011 another acquisition was made of the San Rallo Pasta Division of Mitsui Foods, Inc.

Enthusiastic about the future, Russell states, “The past 50 years have given us plenty of reasons to celebrate. Our Company has come a long way over the years and we couldn’t be more thrilled with our progress.” With a steady and strategic growth plan, the Corigliano brothers will continue to lead the Company in an industry that has experienced its own evolution throughout the years. “We will continue to grow and change and carry on from when my father started Rosina and we will continue each day to keep the Rosina difference alive,” adds Frank. “We will stay committed to producing and developing the finest quality products that our customers and industry demand now and long into the future. The possibilities are endless and our future is bright!”

Rosina Food Products Inc. is a premier manufacturer of frozen protein, pasta, eggplant and entrées. Rosina Food Products, headquartered in Buffalo, NY is family-owned and operated. The Company operates two facilities – the frozen meatball, sausage and pizza topping products are produced at the Cheektowaga, NY plant and the frozen pasta, eggplant, and entrée products are manufactured at the West Seneca, NY plant.  The products are sold nationally and internationally and there is a strong presence in the retail, foodservice, military and industrial channels.
