New technologies from Provisur|Weiler create high-quality products at a lower cost of ownership

October 15, 2013

Weiler Mixer GrinderThe daily grind for processors is faster, easier and more efficient thanks to new mixing and grinding technologies from Weiler that allow for superior products and optimal performance at a lower cost of ownership. Those attributes are increasingly important for today’s processors with costs and ROI concerns who must balance the need for peak throughput, versatility and rugged design.

Weiler offers a wide range of mixing and grinding equipment for processors’ needs, from lower-capacity machines to the highest-capacity systems and from fresh to frozen raw materials. Weiler’s rugged line of grinders, mixers, mixer/grinders and material handling systems include new technologies that streamline production efficiencies and deliver end product quality.

Among Weiler’s state-of the-art mixing and grinding solutions:

Weiler Dominator 8 Grinder: The Weiler Dominator 8 Grinder is a heavy-duty grinder that can process up to 24,000 lbs. (10,877 kg) an hour, using Weiler’s Balanced Flow technology. The grinder brings Dominator technology into the smaller range (8 5/8” or 219mm diameter) of plate sizes, allowing small to medium sized processors in beef, pork, poultry and seafood industries to maximize product quality and hard tissue removal with a lower cost of ownership. Applications include fresh meat, pre-broken frozen and tempered block grinding; among its enhanced operational features, the machine includes a unique knifeholder drive system, spring-loaded knifeholder and a heavy-duty gearbox. In addition to traditional and value-added ground beef, the system’s versatility and ability to achieve consistent, well-defined particle definition also lends itself well to sausage production.

Weiler MG Dominator 8/20A Mixer/Grinder: Reflecting the latest innovations in grinding, this mixer/grinder is engineered for maximum product quality and a lower cost of ownership for small to medium capacity processors, used with 8 5/8” (219mm) diameter plate sizes and 20 cu. ft. (566 liter) tubs. The Weiler overlapping, counter-rotating paddle system, coupled with a full length unload screw reduces processing time and sanitation time. The unique paddle design and polished food contact surfaces improve yields and preserve meat texture, while the Dominator grinding technology offers advanced hard tissue collection and consistent and uniform particle definition.

Omni V 1107 Multi-Grinder: From frozen blocks to fresh meat, the new Omni V 1107 is both built to last and built to do more. The Omni V 1107 Multi-Grinder’s versatility allows it to be used for fresh and frozen products. Efficient for small to medium processors, the machine features an 11” (280mm) diameter plate and offers capacity up to 18,000 lbs. (8,164 kg) an hour for fresh and 9,000 lbs. (4,082 kg) an hour for frozen final grind. Convenience and efficiency are two themes designed into the OmniV 1107. The hopper accepts multiple blocks at a time, a two-screw configuration with independent belt drives eliminates machine changeovers for fresh and frozen raw materials and VFD controls on both drives allow for complete application control. This machine is engineered with Weiler’s exclusive Dominator grinding technology with Balanced Flow design that eliminates roll back, turbulence and unnecessary work of the raw materials for better particle definition and dimension. Ruggedness is a hallmark of the design, too, with durable construction, a heavy-duty gearbox and a unique knifeholder drive system.

VersaGrind 11 Pump Grinding System: This system, offering a wide range of applications in the beef, pork and poultry industries, is an alternative to conventional screw type grinders and features  our AccuPump technology. The positive displacement pump eliminates roll back typically found in conventional screw-type grinders for enhanced product quality and works well with sticky, tacky raw materials typically found in the sausage industry and raw materials with high liquid content such as in the poultry industry. Speed control on three different drives help ensure exact particle definition, while also enabling versatility for different raw materials and end products. In addition, the separate pump and grinding head offer greater orientation flexibility on the processing floor.

Weiler premium equipment is backed by worldwide 24/7/365 technical support from Provisur that includes routine maintenance checks, emergency repair services and even equipment training sessions for staff, keeping the line running in peak condition.

Provisur Technologies, Inc., with a family of proven brands, AM2C, Beehive, Cashin, Formax, Multitec, TST and Weiler, offers a complete platform for food processing equipment, including meat recovery, separating, grinding, mixing, material handling, forming, slicing, coating, cooking and freezing equipment for processing beef, poultry, pork, fish and other food products.
