The American Meat Science Association (AMSA) announces that Dr. Bucky Gwartney has been named an AMSA Fellow and is a recipient of the 2018 AMSA Signal Service Award.

This will be a hands-on interactive session including live purebred animals and carcasses for discussion and evaluation.

The award was established to recognize excellence in the teaching of undergraduate and graduate meat science courses and the impact on the lives of those students in a highly positive manner.

They will be honored at a special awards banquet at the AMSA 71st Reciprocal Meat Conference

Drs. Wes Schilling, Heather Bruce, and Ranjith Ramanathan will be the featured speakers.

On June 24-27, meat scientists from across the country will gather in Kansas City, Mo., where they will be hosted by Smithfield Foods and other local AMSA members from at the 71st RMC.

Drs. Wayne Campbell, Eric Berg, and Rody Hawkins will be the featured speakers.

The speakers in this symposium will take a comprehensive look at the destinations of U.S. and North American meat products.

The award was established to honor an individual for internationally recognized contributions to the field of meat science and technology.

This keynote presentation will address “Trust, Transparency, and Communicating Science.”
