Meat processors can now monitor temperature remotely with MadgeTech Cloud

By Industry News
June 1, 2015

With MadgeTech wireless data loggers, temperature data is transmitted in real time allowing meat processors to track multiple ovens, freezers or smokers from a centrally located PC within the facility. Now, with MadgeTech Cloud Services, remote temperature monitoring from the palm of your hand just became an around the clock reality, providing instant access to critical data, on demand, from wherever you are. Have multiple facilities across the country? No problem. All data is wrangled and displayed neatly in one convenient, easy to navigate view.

MadgeTech Cloud Services enhances wireless monitoring by allowing users to remotely view temperature data from a phone, tablet, laptop or any internet enabled device. This is a giant leap in quality control and efficiency for meat processors everywhere.

Be up and running in minutes without complicated hardware or set up costs. MadgeTech wireless loggers such as the RFOT Wireless Meat Temperature data logger, Therm-A-Lert systems or the 2000A Wireless Logger Series are already cloud compatible. All that is needed is the latest version of the free MadgeTech Data Logger software and a MadgeTech Cloud Services account which is also free to try for 30 days with no obligation. The monthly fee after the free trial is only $10/month for up to 5 data loggers. More data loggers can be added in blocks of 5 for an additional $10 and removed at any time.

MadgeTech Cloud services is simple, user friendly and completely self-serve, but the MadgeTech technical sales team is always available and there to assist should you have questions or need help. See a live demo at cloud.madgetech.com/demo, try it on your phone or tablet. View humidity or pressure data as well by clicking on the measurement displayed in the summary for any data loggers monitoring more than just temperature. Directly access current readings as well as a graph for the trend of the most recent 100 readings by clicking on the data logger name in the summary list.

MadgeTech services the meat industry with a number of logging devices and systems specifically designed for meat processing applications. For storage monitoring and process environment monitoring, MadgeTech offers the wireless and cloud compatible Therm-A-Lert series which includes a Therm-A-Lert-RH option for measuring humidity. These loggers can measure from -4 °F (-20 °C) to 176 °F (80 °C) and come with dual lock for easy mounting to a wall or storage container.

For the harsher environments found in smokehouses and cookers, the RFOT data logger with built in probe and hook allows wireless temperature monitoring throughout the entire cooking and cooling process. The rugged design is completely splash proof and can withstand the harshest conditions from -4 °F (-20 °C) to 212 °F (100 °C). Available with either 2.5 inch or 4 inch piercing probe, the RFOT reliably measures the internal temperatures of meat products throughout cooking and cooling cycles. The built in hook at the top of the logger provides a means of securely hanging the data logger alongside the meat during processing.

Within the MadgeTech 4 Software, alarm rules can be configured to send email or text alerts to specified users when temperatures exceed selected thresholds. Use the MadgeTech Data Logger Software for advanced data analysis and to create reports for compliance needs, including assisting in HACCP programs and implementation.

The Madgetech Cloud takes monitoring meat processes to the next level by delivering the ultimate tool to view live data at any time, from anywhere. Making facilities efficient and helping to support the endeavor of product quality and consumer safety.
