Newly Weds Foods launches groundbreaking clean-label antimicrobial at IPPE

By Industry News
January 21, 2016

WHO: Newly Weds Foods

WHAT: A leader in the manufacturing of food coatings, seasonings and functional ingredients for the food processing and foodservice industries. The company announces the launch of DefenStat, the latest addition to its IsoStat Products Group portfolio of food safety products, at this year's IPPE. Made from all clean-label ingredients, this new antimicrobial for use in raw meat and poultry products protects against the three systemic failures leading to E. coli and Salmonella outbreaks. DefenStat inhibits pathogen proliferation, substantially reduces potential for cross-contamination and enhances E. coli and Salmonella susceptibility to heat. The combined interventions resulting from the use of DefenStat dramatically lower the risk of foodborne illness.

DefenStat sets the standard in food safety and stands alone as the first and only entirely clean label antimicrobial that defends against the effects of E. coli and Salmonella proliferation and survival. The product contains no synthetic or artificial ingredients and demonstrates Newly Weds Foods' capabilities in food safety and functional ingredient development and technology.

WHERE: #B8151

WHEN: January 26 - January 28

Members of the trade media are invited to stop by Newly Weds Foods' booth to learn about this latest innovation and how this revolutionary intervention provides processors, food retailers, foodservice operators and consumers with an added level of defense against both E.coli and Salmonella, while sampling beef and turkey "sliders" with DefenStat. The company's R&D and sales representatives will be on hand to discuss Newly Weds Foods' DefenStat, including its functionality and opportunities for application.

In addition to the booth activities, Newly Weds Foods' own Dr. Roger Maehler will be presenting, "A Clean Label Solution to Limiting Growth and Increasing Heat Susceptibility of Salmonella and E.coli" as part of the IPPE Tech XChange program. His presentation will take place on Tuesday, January 26th at 2 p.m. in B-8805.
