Steve Evans returns to Perdue Foods as president

By Industry News
May 5, 2016

Randy Day, chief operating officer of Perdue Farms, Inc., has announced that Steve Evans will rejoin the company as president of Perdue Foods, LLC, effective May 31, 2016.

“We are thrilled to have Steve return to Perdue in this leadership position,” said Day. “I am confident Steve’s experience in marketing and sales, his tenure as chief executive officer of Allen Harim Foods, and his personal understanding of our company’s values and heritage will be invaluable as we manage the present and prepare for the future in our journey to be the most trusted named in premium proteins.”

Evans was most recently CEO of Allen Harim Foods based in Seaford, Del., a division of the Harim Corp. in South Korea, since 2013. He started his 36-year poultry industry career at Cagle’s Farms in Atlanta in 1980. Evans joined Perdue in 1985 and held a variety of sales and marketing positions of increasing responsibility. He was promoted to vice president of marketing, vice president of sales and marketing, and senior vice president of retail sales and marketing in 2009. In 2011, he was promoted to senior vice president of sales and supply chain, where he was responsible for driving sales in the foodservice, international, and wholesale and industrial channels, and leading the supply, demand, customer service, logistics and transportation functions.

Evans is a member of the National Chicken Council, the Salisbury University Perdue School of Business Executive Advisory Council, and a past member of the American Meat Institute. He earned a bachelor of arts’ degree in business administration and marketing at Georgia State University and has completed advanced business studies at the Wharton and Darden business schools.

Evans and his wife, Liza, have four children and three grandchildren, and live in Salisbury.
