NutriFresh services announces expansion of national perishable e-commerce capabilities along with same day delivery service into NYC area

By Industry News
November 8, 2018

NutriFresh Services announced that the company is investing significant resources into expanding its e-Commerce fulfillment and Direct-To-Consumer capabilities. During the past two years, Nutrifresh has experienced tremendous growth in its E-commerce fulfillment operation as a direct result of the massive growth in Meal Kits and RTE clean label food companies. The company now services numerous Meal Kit and Ready to Eat Meal providers, alongside its legacy beverage and frozen products customers. Customers are now able to ship both frozen and refrigerated DTC nationally at unprecedented rates from NutriFresh's main facility in Edison, NJ, as well as its growing network of partners around the country. The new fulfillment center is located within NutriFresh's existing facility further enhancing the one-stop-shop services NutriFresh provides its clients. Additionally, Nutrifresh is launching a same-day delivery service that will initially focus on New York City's five boroughs, with plans to expand to the majority of the East-Coast's major metropolitan areas in the near future.

With the installation of the new picking lines, technology, and automation, NutriFresh clients will now be able to enjoy robust pick & pack capabilities and extraordinary shipping rates. This will allow NutriFresh customers to keep up with constant market developments and capture the growth that national e-Commerce can offer.

As part of the DTC expansion, the company has made a strategic decision to move all its juice manufacturing to its network of partner co-pack facilities. Chris Jenkins, the company's COO said, "NutriFresh personnel spent significant time and resources in the last couple of months assisting our partner facilities with training and equipment transfers to allow for the smoothest possible transition for our juice clients. We understood that this process could be extremely disruptive to any brand and wanted to make sure we allow them the most painless transition possible. We actually held back from doing it in June to allow our clients to get through the summer busy season uninterrupted."

NutriFresh Services continues to lead the "clean food" charge and maintain its place at the forefront of the food & beverage production and distribution industry on the East Coast. The plant operates three Hiperbaric HPP machines, 140,000 square feet of refrigerated and frozen storage spaces, and national e-Commerce pick & pack fulfillment with same day delivery service into NYC all under of roof. The facility is conveniently located just minutes from New York City, New Jersey ports, Newark airport, and the strategic Route 95, for easy transportation of product to the entire Tri-State area and beyond.

Guy Ironi, the company's CEO said, "These capabilities are the result of the entire NutriFresh team working tirelessly over the past two years. We constantly strive to deliver a complete solution to the Juice and RTE meals industry that adopted HPP as their method of choice. The new capabilities will even-out the playing field by making available to our customers capabilities that only existed to Fortune 500 consumer good brands. Now with the investment in infrastructure and the consolidation of volume, we can make sure our customers compete better by controlling costs and offering distribution alternatives that were just a dream two years ago." He added, "Our Edison, NJ location can serve close to half the population of the country within a day's truck drive. The other half can be served from our west coast partners, allowing for a competitive cost structure. This is another step in the revolution, that we are happy to lead, in how manufacturers of cold-press juices and RTE clean label foods can get products to market, safely, quickly and with real commercial scale."
