Poultry safety council honors eight Case Farms facilities
Case Farms receives honors at the 2025 National Safety Conference for the Poultry Industry.

Eight Case Farms facilities, including three processing plants, four hatcheries, and one feed mill were recognized by the Joint Industry Safety and Health Council for their strong performance through the implementation of innovative and effective employee safety and health programs. Case Farms was honored at the 2025 National Safety Conference for the Poultry Industry, held Aug. 18-20 in Destin, Fla.
“Safety is intertwined with everything we do at Case Farms, every location, every team member. To be recognized for our safe working practices is a great honor. Case Farms has and will continue to be an example of safety across our industry,” said Tyler Parlier, regional safety manager of Case Farms North Carolina Division. “These awards coupled with several million-man hour achievements across our facilities are a reflection of constantly improving our safety culture.”
Three of the company’s processing plants in Goldsboro, N.C.; Morganton, N.C.; and Canton, Ohio, each received the highest recognition, the Award of Distinction. This honor was also awarded to the Massillon, Ohio, Feed Mill and four hatcheries in Strasburg and Canton Ohio, and Dudley and Morganton in N.C. Additionally, the Dudley, N.C., Feed Mill earned the council’s second-highest recognition, the Award of Honor.
“There is a reason safety is one of our core values, it is intertwined in every aspect of our operations. To see our workforce honored with these awards is simply outstanding,” added Jeffrey Shanabarger, regional safety manager of Case Farms Ohio Division. “Thank you, Case family, for continuing to improve our safety culture and make safety our top priority each and every day.”
Award eligibility required these facilities to maintain their key Occupational Safety and Health Administration safety metrics—Total Recordable Incident Rate and Days Away, Restricted or Transferred at levels equal to or less than the industry average as reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Award consideration is also based on each facility's written explanation of its safety programs and processes.
The Joint Industry Safety and Health Council consists of members from the US Poultry & Egg Association, National Chicken Council and National Turkey Federation. Collectively, the three organizations represent companies that produce 95% of the nation's poultry products and directly employ more than 350,000 workers.
