Philly’s Best Steak Co. announces rebrand and a 2026 expansion
Founded in 1995 by brothers-in-law, Ody Akranis and Steve Rafailidis, Philly’s Best is now run by the next-generation Akranis siblings – Zafeiris, Georgia and Niko.

Philadelphia-based meat processor Philly’s Best Steak Co. is entering a new era with a rebrand, expansion plans and the next generation of family leadership at the helm. The new look accompanies a stronger voice that will more clearly convey the things that have made the company a standout among competitors for more than three decades – an authentic, hand-trimmed product from a team that grew up in kitchens and knows the ins and the outs of the industry.
“We live in a no-nonsense town, and this new look reflects our city and the people here. When you bite into a cheesesteak made with Philly’s Best, folks should expect the true taste of Philadelphia, no corner cutting,” says Zafeiris Akranis, president of Philly’s Best Steak Co. “We have had huge growth over the last few years, but never compromised on our quality – a differentiator that is so important to us. If there’s one thing our customers should expect from us, it’s that we bring you Philly’s Best, and nothing less.”
Founded in 1995 by brothers-in-law, Ody Akranis and Steve Rafailidis, Philly’s Best is now run by the next-generation Akranis siblings – Zafeiris, Georgia and Niko. The company has strengthened its presence throughout the United States, Canada and the Middle East by staying true to the values that drove the company since day one: craftsmanship, brotherly love, straight talk and earned respect.
Now, Philly’s Best is reintroducing itself to the world. It’s sharpening its story and honing its voice. And it’s happening at a time when the company is readying for significant expansion, including a new facility coming online in 2026.
