Gourmet Duck Breast Pastrami
Family-owned and operated Pekin duck producer Joe Jurgielewicz & Son is expanding its lineup of artisan gourmet duck products with the launch of Gourmet Duck Breast Pastrami, a chef-inspired take on a deli classic.
The new product features JJS’s signature duck breast, cured, then rubbed with a proprietary spice blend and traditionally smoked.
“Duck has transitioned beyond being a seasonal restaurant special—it’s becoming one of the breakout proteins of 2026,” said Joey Jurgielewicz, III, director of business development at JJS. “Home cooks, foodservice operators, and delis are discovering the versatility of duck and its appeal as a high-quality, all-natural protein packed with essential vitamins and nutrients.”
Demand for duck continues to grow as consumers reconsider their protein choices. This shift is driven by consumers on weight-loss medications who require higher levels of nutrient-dense proteins to support lean muscle, younger shoppers cooking more at home and seeking minimally processed foods with restaurant-quality flavor and the continued challenges of the US beef herd. Together, these trends are creating new opportunities for duck-based deli meats, meal kits and culinary innovation.
Each all-natural Gourmet Duck Breast Pastrami weighs 10-12 oz. and is available individually or in cases of six. For a limited time, the Gourmet Duck Breast Pastrami is on sale for $12.99 plus shipping.
