BOISE, Idaho – A southwestern Idaho bird farm has been quarantined after a low-pathogenic bird flu strain was found. Idaho officials say it is not the same strain that has spread overseas.

The state department of agriculture said that the type of virus that was found in the game bird is commonly found in wild birds and causes only minor illness. A statement from the departments said the virus poses little to no risk to human health and that is was believed that no people have gotten sick in connection to the bird.

The Idaho Agriculture Department reportedly quarantined the farm and will test the flock, investigate the source of the illness and notify neighboring game bird and poultry farms.
