RICHMOND, Va. – Virginia public health officials said Tuesday that samples of beef taken from a Boy Scout camp tested positive for a strain of E. coli O157:H7.
Spokeswoman Michelle Peregoy reportedly said that the bacteria had been detected in raw ground beef at some of the camps at the Goshen Scout Reservation in Rockbridge County, Va. It matches the strain found in some of the people diagnosed with the illness.
