North Carolina Governor Beverley Perdue brought together city and coubty leaders fighting over a proposed poultry plant for Sanderson Farms last week. Leaders from Nash County and the city of Wilson met with the governor in an attempt to find a resolution to the disputed plant, reports theRocky Mount Telegram.

Wilson has sued Nash County over a proposed Sanderson Farms poultry plant. The city is worried about effects on water quality and land values. Nash County says the plant will bring 1,100 jobs to the region. So far, the two sides have spent over $1 million in the dispute since it broke out last year.

A Perdue spokesman said that the governor wants to help the two sides to reach an agreement.
