Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. announced it will hold a webinar, “From Food Process to Food Profit: Turn Instant Feedback Into Fast Payback Using Thermo Scientific E Scan Inline Analysis,” on November 16 at 1:00 PM CST.

Presented by Rick Cash, marketing technology manager, Thermo Fisher Scientific Online Food Analysis, the webinar is designed for those interested in food analysis, including quality managers and directors, food engineers, R&D managers and plant managers at food and beverage plants. It may also benefit those working in markets including meat, dairy, snack foods and confectionary.

The webinar will explain how the Thermo Scientific E scan serves as an alternative to dielectric measurement of food. E Scan uses Guided Microwave Spectrometry (GMS) to make precise, repeatable measurement of dielectric changes, and allows conversion of these changes into relevant constituent measurement in-line and real-time. Using a calibration plan spanning the food matrix design space, a variety of repeatable measurements can be obtained by the user for feedback and control.

Cash will discuss methods of in-line measurement of food, addressing whether or not a plant can make precise, repeatable measurement of dielectric changes and what plants need to do to successfully make constituent measurement in-line and real-time.
