Certified Angus Beef recognized industry leaders with marketing and sales awards on Sept. 22 as part of the brand’s annual conference, held virtually this year.
The opening reception at this year's Certified Angus Beef Annual Conference featured the things you might expect: ribeyes, strip steaks and tomahawk chops. There were also some things that you might not expect, like swords, pitchforks, dangling pineapples and fire.
While at the Certified Angus Beef annual conference, Independent Processor editor Sam Gazdziak spoke with Troy Hadrick, a South Dakota rancher and online animal agriculture advocate.
"Economic and political order has become disorder," said Dan Basse, president of AgResource, in market analysis comments at the 2019 Feeding Quality Forum in Amarillo, Texas.
Many finished animals are still shipped to neighboring states for processing, but DemKota Ranch Beef, a packing plant in Aberdeen, S.D., is looking to keep a higher percentage of them close to home.
