Grants aim to help local meat processors modernize and grow their businesses, produce new products or expand their markets, while improving profitability and sustaining the long-term viability of Wisconsin’s meat processing facilities.
Awards ceremony April 9, 2026, held in conjunction with the Wisconsin Association of Meat Processors Annual Convention, honors Wisconsin Meat Industry Hall of Fame inductees Dan Schaefer and Steve Van Lannen.
Gov. Tony Evers has announced the creation of the Meat and Poultry Supply Chain Resiliency Grant Program, investing up to $10 million in the program to continue to grow Wisconsin’s meat processing industry and improve the long-term viability of the state’s livestock industry.
Gov. Tony Evers, together with Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection (DATCP) Secretary Randy Romanski, has announced five meat processors will receive meat processor grants from DATCP in 2022.
The competition is open only to Midwestern states surrounding the state of Wisconsin including: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, and Ohio.
