Palermo Villa announces its latest frozen pizza innovation Urban Pie Pizza Company

Palermo Villa, Inc., one of the top five pizza manufacturers in America, announces its latest frozen pizza innovation; Urban Pie Pizza Company. With a flaky, pastry-like crust, this premium, small batch frozen pizza is unlike any product Palermo’s has ever released and it is aimed at re-energizing the frozen pizza category for millennials, young families and others. Urban Pie Pizza Co. is currently in select grocery stores and will be available nationwide by the end of this month. The suggested retail price is $8.99.

“We are thrilled to bring this type of innovation to the frozen pizza category,” said Giacomo Fallucca, Palermo Villa, Inc. CEO. “It’s been a unique test to meld flavor trends with the American pizza palate. I think this innovation is a relevant representation of how much we continue to challenge ourselves. I’m incredibly proud of the collaborative efforts we continue to achieve,” he finished.

Fallucca credits the inspiration for the Urban Pie brand to travels with his family. The Falluccas wanted to bring the culinary expertise they’ve experienced filtering through restaurants and regional culture into the world of frozen pizza.

The Urban Pie Pizza Co. brand includes four distinct varieties named for the communities that inspired the tastes:

  • Mission District - Named after the unique melting pot of flavors and tastes in San Francisco, this pizza includes chicken sausage, uncured pepperoni, green peppers, onions and black olives.
  • Little Italy - Represents the famed New York City neighborhood that is often considered the epicenter of Italian-American culture, this pizza is a blend of Romano, provolone, mozzarella and parmesan cheeses on a pesto based sauce, finished off with cherry tomatoes.
  • North End - Brings more of the east coast flavor representing a Boston neighborhood. This pizza offers a truffle Alfredo based sauce, topped with shiitake and crimini mushrooms, caramelized onion, rosemary and capers.
  • Lake View - A twist on the sausage and peppers toppings essential to Chicago, this Urban Pie features sun-dried tomatoes, chicken sausage, fire roasted yellow pepper and spinach over a three cheese bed of mozzarella, provolone and Gouda.

More information on Urban Pie can be accessed online by going to www.eatUPpizza.com. The site offers a VIP club called Urbaneers, where users can sign up to receive special deals and promotions including a sneak peek from the Chalk it Up Tour, a national sampling mobile tour launching in the summer of 2016. Users who visit the site can also interact by designing their own chalk board creations that can be printed and shared on social media, an alignment and reflection of the chalk board packaging from Urban Pie Pizza Co.
