US pork, beef ambassadors connect with buyers, importers in Chile and Peru
US Meat Export Federation expands its ambassador program to work directly with the trade through the BizBooster program.

A US Meat Export Federation program developed to expand the US industry’s outreach in Chile and Peru is also working to connect local importers of US pork and beef with foodservice and retail buyers through a new marketing initiative.
“We began the Ambassador program to help implement educational and promotional activities in Chile and Peru. Now, we are evolving our ambassador responsibilities to also work directly with the trade through the BizBooster program,” said US Meat Export Federation South America Representative Jessica Julca.
Having already graduated from ambassador-level training about US red meat production and quality, a number of ambassadors are now working directly with local importers and potential end-users in Chile and Peru. Training for the BizBooster program focuses on strengthening skills in communications, marketing and relationship development.
A key objective of BizBooster is to advance trade relationships between local suppliers and potential buyers. Ambassadors contact foodservice and retail accounts for trade leads, to connect potential buyers with appropriate importer/suppliers, help address operational issues and offer guidance on purchasing cuts and potential applications. The program focuses on catering, hotels, restaurants and small retailers in major markets in Chile and Peru.
BizBooster is made possible with support from USDA’s Regional Agricultural Promotion Program.
