ADM expands ingredients portfolio for meat and alternative‑protein applications
ADM launches regionally sourced soy and pea protein solutions designed to support meat, poultry, hybrid and alternative protein applications.

ADM expands its plant-based protein portfolio
Agribusiness and nutrition company ADM is launching eight new plant-based protein ingredients in North America and Europe, expanding its soy and pea protein portfolio with solutions designed to support meat, poultry, hybrid and alternative protein applications.
According to consumer insights platform ADM Outside Voice, demand for diversified protein sources continues to rise, and processors increasingly looking for functional ingredients that improve texture, yield, cost-in-use and formulation flexibility. Soy and pea proteins are key tools in that shift due to their scalability, neutral flavor profiles and ability to perform in both traditional and blended meat systems.
“Protein is one of the most dynamic areas of nutrition, with consumers now asking for more variety, functionality and choices than ever before,” said Greg Dodson, vice president of protein, North America, ADM. “With new ingredient introductions and expanding capabilities in facilities across the globe, ADM is uniquely positioned to meet that demand at scale.”
Functional ingredients for meat and poultry applications
Several of ADM’s new launches are designed specifically for processed meat systems:
- Arcon IH – A lower-viscosity functional soy protein concentrate designed to maintain texture and juiciness in applications including ham and pork chops.
- Arcon SB – A soy protein concentrate formulated to improve texture and yield in sausages, meatballs, taco meat and other ground meat applications.
- Arcon 412 – A cost-effective soy protein concentrate supporting texture and juiciness in deli meats and chicken nuggets.

- Arcon R – A neutral-flavor concentrate available in multiple sizes for extrusion, meat extension and hybrid product development.
- Arcon T – A new line of textured soy protein concentrates designed for extended meat products and plant-based alternatives.
The company’s new soy protein isolates, ProFam 883 and ProFam 894, are designed for beverages, powders and dairy alternatives. ADM is also launching a pea flour with neutral flavor and no allergen labeling requirements, suitable for batters, breadings, baked goods and cereals.
“By expanding our protein portfolio, we’re giving customers more precise, functional solutions that will perform across a wide range of applications,” said Tony Payne, senior director of creation, design and development, ADM. “This is about delivering choice, backed by decades of plant-based expertise and global innovation.”
ADM’s work in plant-based proteins dates back to the 1960s with the introduction of the world's first textured vegetable protein, soy. The company said its ongoing efforts in soy and pea protein development aim to support meat extension, hybrid products, meat alternatives, snacks, specialized nutrition and more.
