Simmons Knife & Saw, a manufacturer of industrial cutting solutions, is celebrating its 80th anniversary in 2026.
Simmons originally found success in the B2C space, manufacturing and selling Scallop blades as consumer cutlery in a production space with less than 5,000 square feet. Now, eight decades later, Simmons remains close to its roots by continuing to manufacture its trademark Scallop blades in a production space that exceeds 50,000 square feet. The company has also continued to create new products to expand into other industries in the B2B space.
Currently, Simmons has developed more than 20 different cutting edges used in thousands of unique blade designs for applications across the foam, bread, meat, poultry, seafood and produce sectors, among several others.
“Reaching this milestone is a testament to four generations of hard work, perseverance, and commitment. But no company achieves longevity like this on its own,” said Colin Murphy, president and owner of Simmons. “Our success is inseparable from the dedication of our employees, the trust of our customers, and the support of our vendors and partners across many industries.”
As part of its anniversary celebration, Simmons plans to recognize its employees whose contributions have helped shape the company’s success. The company also plans to commemorate the milestone with internal events and expanded marketing initiatives throughout the year.
While its 80th anniversary provides an opportunity to reflect, Simmons remains firmly focused on the future. The company continues to explore ongoing process improvements and investments in manufacturing technology that allow Simmons to meet customers’ evolving needs and remain a dependable partner for businesses with cutting operations worldwide.
