Bulk material handling equipment designer and manufacturer Hapman is celebrating its 80th anniversary. Founded in 1945 in Detroit, Mich., Hapman began its journey with the launch of the Tubular Drag Conveyor for the automotive industry. Over the years, Hapman has consistently expanded its capabilities and product offerings, gradually shifting its primary focus from automotive applications to the powder and bulk solids sector. The company has expertise in industries ranging from food production, chemical manufacturing, and wastewater treatment.
Looking ahead, Hapman is preparing to launch an additional conveyor, further broadening its lineup of solutions to address evolving customer needs.
Alongside new product development including the CablePro and PosiPr, Hapman is expanding its manufacturing footprint. The facility expansion will add 18,500 square feet, an increase of 35%, to support rising demand and boost operational efficiency. In 2025, Hapman will also open a new test lab, giving customers the opportunity to validate material handling solutions under real-world conditions and ensure optimal performance for their specific applications.
“As we celebrate 80 years of excellence, we reflect on the generations of employees, customers, and partners who have contributed to Hapman’s success,” said Matt Richardson, vice president of sales and engineering for Hapman. “Our legacy is built on reliability, consistent performance, and a commitment to helping our customers solve their material handling challenges. We are proud of our history and look forward to continuing to serve our customers for many years to come.”
Hapman’s equipment is installed in all 50 states and 56 countries, with more than 14,000 completed projects and over 2,700 materials tested.
