IDDBA Show Rolls Out Big-Name Speaker Lineup

With seminars by well-known names, including former President Bill Clinton, former Disney executive Michael Eisner, columnist Dave Barry and former NFL quarterback Terry Bradshaw, the Dairy-Deli-Bake 2006 show, hosted annually by the International Dairy-Deli-Bakery Association (IDDBA), has lived up to its theme as “The Show of Shows. The Greatest Food Expo on Earth.”
Yet those four are only part of the popular expo, set for June 11-13 in the North Hall of the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.
The show offers retailers, merchandisers, foodservice operators and processors the chance to learn, first-hand, the trends and issues facing their businesses, meet targeted buyers and merchandisers, see new products, packaging, and services, and network with decision-makers in their industry.
The newest marketing strategies will be discussed, based on the latest research and trends, and attendees are allowed to photograph and videotape the exciting new merchandising concepts on display.
Eisner will speak to attendees Sunday in a seminar titled, “Leadership: Succeeding by Failing and Other Paradoxes.” Monday, Clinton takes the stage in his seminar, “Embracing Our Common Humanity — Security and Prosperity in the 21st Century,” and Barry precedes the opening of the show floor with his thoughts in “Dave’s World: From the Far Side.” Bradshaw opens the final day of the show with his seminar, “Why Not Your Best?” Other informative seminars on marketing to consumers, organic products and increasing sales by driving consumers round out the educational schedule each day.
Aside from the helpful seminars and new product displays, Dairy-Deli-Bake 2006 returns to the program the successful Show and Sell Merchandising Pavilion, which offers immediate access to actionable ideas for retailers and merchandisers.
“The combination of strong visuals from the hundreds of creative merchandising displays, the planned themes, and the take-home Buyer's Guide and handouts deliver a visual blueprint for creating strong, customer-oriented displays when you get home,” relays the IDDBA Web site, with respect to the Pavilion.
