Philly-Gourmet Meat Co. is expanding its product line in the frozen burger category — a quarter-pound patty with diced bacon and cheese mixed into the meat to replicate the taste of a bacon cheeseburger. The Philly-Gourmet Bacon and Cheese Homestyle Patties deliver the flavors of a bacon cheeseburger without using bacon and cheese toppings that might slide off the frozen patty or require separate preparation that would diminish the quick-cook advantage. The new patties are made from 100% beef blended with real bacon and real cheese, and cooking times range from 10 to 18 minutes, depending whether the patties are skillet-fried, oven-broiled or charcoal-grilled.
5. Gold’n Plump launches fresh ground-chicken line
Gold’n Plump Poultry announces Recipe Ready Ground Chicken, the company’s first, fresh ground-chicken product. The product — which comes in 20-ounce trays — is made of 100 percent high-quality boneless skinless thigh meat, is lower sodium and has 33 percent less fat per serving than regular ground beef.
