Chef'sChoice introduces fastest commercial manual knife sharpener available

August 14, 2013

EdgeCraft Chefs Choice sharpenerThe new Chef’sChoice Commercial Pronto Manual Diamond Hone Sharpener 465 by EdgeCraft Corporation is specifically designed for foodservice professionals who want a rugged, easy to use and extremely fast manual sharpener that will apply incredibly sharp and durable edges on both straight edge and serrated knives.

It's the fastest manual sharpener available and specifically designed for fast-paced commercial kitchens. Using 100% diamond abrasives, two-stages and precise angle control, the Commercial Pronto 465 provides a superior and long-lasting edge on commercial kitchen knives, butcher knives, pocket knives and sports knives.

It features Chef'sChoice's perfected CrissCross sharpening technology for an extremely sharp, double bevel edge with microscopic "teeth" along the entire cutting edge. These tiny teeth provide the "bite" on the edge and work to engage and stabilize the food for effortless cutting.

Diamond abrasive wheels simultaneously sharpen into and out of the knife’s edge on each side of the blade for a reliable, burr-free and razor sharp edge with a long-lasting, arch-shaped finish. Stage one sharpens the edge and sets the initial bevel using larger diamonds. Stage two features micron-sized diamonds to apply the second bevel and complete the durable, arch-shaped and super sharp polished edge that is superior to traditional edges. Stage two is also designed to resharpen serrated knives.

The Commercial Pronto incorporates Chef’sChoice's signature diamond abrasives. Diamonds are preferred for their superior characteristics over other sharpening materials. Diamond abrasive wheels hold their shape indefinitely (unlike ceramic wheels which lose shape over time) and can sharpen any alloy. Diamonds are also the most durable abrasive and will last and last. Chef’sChoice diamond abrasives will not load up and there is no messy water or oils needed for sharpening.

The Commercial Pronto 465 features a comfortable non-slip, ergonomic handle for an easy, secure grip and rubber feet for a secure hold and additional stability. It is washable and can be easily rinsed in a sink.

Safe for all quality knives, the Chef’sChoice Commercial Pronto Manual Diamond Hone Sharpener 465 has been engineered and field-tested for long life and high performance in the rugged environment of commercial kitchens. The unit is compact and designed to fit into even the most crowded kitchen. Available for $39.99. For further information, contact EdgeCraft Corporation at 800.342.3255 or visit www.edgecraft.com. Engineered and assembled in the USA.

Headquartered in Avondale, PA, EdgeCraft Corporation was launched in 1985 with the introduction of the Chef'sChoice model 100 electric knife sharpener, which was immediately acclaimed worldwide for its performance and quality. Today, the company produces the world’s most technologically advanced commercial and professional home use sharpeners on the market as well as high-quality cutlery, food slicers, waffle makers and mixes and hot beverage products. Marketed in 70 countries around the world under the Chef’s Choice brand, products are sold in leading department, cutlery, sporting goods, cookware, specialty, commercial food service, hardware, and sewing stores as well as through mail-order and online catalogs.
