PMMI raises $50,000 for industry education, training

PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, reports the 2013 PMMI Education & Training Foundation Golf Tournament raised $50,000 in support of training and education for packaging and processing professionals.

Including Gold Sponsor Morrison Container Handling Solutions, 32 companies sponsored the tournament. A field of 136 industry executives played in the biennial event on Sept. 22, the day before PACK EXPO Las Vegas 2013 opened, at the Royal Links Golf Course in Las Vegas.

Since 1990, the PMMI Education & Training Foundation has raised more than $2.5 million to support packaging and processing student scholarships and continuing education for packaging and processing professionals.

“The industry comes together at PACK EXPO, and the PMMI Education & Training Foundation Golf Tournament is a fun way to start the show experience — connecting, supporting industry growth and strengthening our workforce. We’re very grateful for the support of all our sponsors and golfers,” says Maria Ferrante, vice president, Education & Workforce Development, PMMI.
