The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service is extending the comment period for its proposed rule titled Transparency in Poultry Grower Contracting and Tournaments for an additional 15 days, through August 23. 

This update will allow the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service's Good Agricultural Practices audit services to remain applicable and relevant to its specialty crops industry customers.

To provide greater flexibility to contractors that supply food for federal nutrition assistance programs, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) will make certification options available for meat and poultry products purchased under these programs.
