On March 11, the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS or the agency) announced the availability of the guidance FSIS Guideline for Industry Response to Customer Complaints, 2019.
The guideline is to help the meat and poultry industry respond to customer complaints that are determined to be associated with adulterated or misbranded meat and poultry products.
When a customer complains, it provides you with the opportunity to turn a dissatisfied customer into a satisfied customer and perhaps into an advocate for your product or brand. This is true whether you are dealing with a retail or wholesale customer.
