Rentokil Steritech, a Rentokil North America company and part of the world's largest commercial pest control firm, has released a new tool to help businesses work toward pest-free environments in their operations. The free Pest Prevention Best Practices Series will provide businesses and their staff with practical tips and best practices to keep pests out of their facilities.

Pest infestations cost businesses an estimated additional $9.6 billion in operating costs in 2014, according to a report commissioned by Rentokil and produced by the Centre for Economics and Business Research (Cebr), which surveyed over 1,000 businesses. To help alleviate this statistic, Rentokil Steritech’s Pest Prevention Best Practices Series will offer business operators who sign up for the program a new card in their inbox each month focusing on a specific area of operations. With 13 current topics, and more to come, the series is designed to help commercial operations enhance overall structural, sanitation, and maintenance processes to be less conducive to pests. A few of the topics covered include:

  • Employee Personal Item Storage
  • Landscaping & Grounds Maintenance
  • Floor Drain Cleaning & Maintenance
  • Odor Management
  • Shared Walls & Ceilings
  • Roof Inspections
  • Receiving Areas
