Actress Sofía Vergara and son partner with Nestle to debut beef and chicken empanadas
Nestle Professional Solutions and Toma brand develop two empanada varieties showcased at the recent National Restaurant Show.

Foodservice organization Nestle Professional Solutions and Toma, the Latin culinary brand created by actress Sofía Vergara and her son, Manolo Gonzalez Vergara, are partnering to bring authentic Latin flavors to foodservice with the launch of a new empanada line. The line, curated with The Everybody Eats Hospitality Group, is available for order ahead of its official release.
Together, Nestle Professional Solutions and Toma developed two new empanada varieties showcased at the recent National Restaurant Show alongside a line of Nestle sauces.
Sofia Vergara and Manolo Gonzales Vergara partner with Nestle Professional Solutions to launch Toma empanadas including a Beef Empanada, featuring a blend of savory beef, sweet tomatoes, kalamata olives, onions, paprika and chilis, and a Chicken Empanada, featuring pulled dark meat chicken in a tomatillo, jalapeño, cilantro and garlic Salsa Verde.
"With Toma, we're bringing something truly special to operators: chef-approved flavors and ingredients with a convenient back-of-house solution," said Fleur Veldhoven, vice president of marketing at Nestle Professional Solutions. "Our collaboration with Sofía and Manolo means operators can serve authentic, Latin-inspired dishes with confidence and consistency."
The launch comes at a time when operators are eager to meet rising demand for globally inspired grab-and-go foods. According to Datassential, 54% of operators plan to offer more portable snack options, and Technomic reports 40% of consumers say they are more likely to visit restaurants offering new and innovative flavors.
Each empanada offers ready-to-heat convenience, produced under Nestle Professional Solutions quality standards. They ship frozen and can be cooked from frozen or thawed in a TurboChef, convection oven, or fryer.
