Sustainable seafood supplier North Coast Seafoods is partnering with the American Cancer Society to raise funds in support of breast cancer research and patient programs throughout the month of October 2025.

Through this campaign, North Coast Seafoods will donate a portion of the proceeds from every oyster sold at participating partner restaurants across the region. The initiative requires no extra effort from restaurant partners — by selling oysters as usual, they’ll help drive donations. The more oysters they sell, the greater the contribution to the American Cancer Society.

This monthlong fundraiser will culminate with a check presentation at ACS’s inaugural Shuck Cancer event in Boston, Mass., on Nov. 13, 2025. North Coast Seafoods will also serve as the exclusive supplier of fresh oysters for the event.

“Oysters bring people together—and this October, they’ll also help make a real difference,” said Rich Polins, chief vision officer at North Coast Seafoods. “This campaign allows us to support lifesaving research and patient care in a way that’s both simple and impactful. All our restaurant partners need to do is keep doing what they do best: serve delicious oysters.”

"We are grateful to North Coast Seafoods and their restaurant partners for supporting our mission to end cancer as we know it, for everyone,” said Amanda Idinge, associate director, development, American Cancer Society. “It's initiatives like this that not only support groundbreaking research and vital patient support programs such as rides to treatment and our Boston Hope Lodge, but also unite the community around a shared mission filled with hope. Each oyster enjoyed this October brings us closer to a future without breast cancer.”

North Coast Seafoods would also like to recognize the critical role of its network of oyster farmers — more than 30 strong — whose work and financial support make this initiative possible.
