National Safety Conference features practical solutions and regulatory updates
Conference features the announcement of the 2026 Safety Award winners.

Safety professionals from across the poultry and egg industry will gather Aug. 17-19 for the National Safety Conference for the Poultry Industry at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa in Destin, Fla. Sponsored by the Georgia Tech Research Institute/ATRP and US Poultry & Egg Association, the conference is designed for facility and corporate safety professionals seeking practical strategies, regulatory updates and innovative solutions to strengthen workplace safety programs.
"As safety professionals, we have a responsibility to continuously improve our programs and provide safer workplaces for our employees," said Darrell Bradfield, director of safety health and security at Butterball and program committee chair. "This conference offers valuable opportunities to learn from industry experts, share best practices and gain practical tools that can be implemented immediately to enhance safety performance."
Highlights of the agenda include a Washington update, leading safety indicators, a serious injury and fatality prevention panel, safety regulatory review, OSHA's Safety Champion Program, occupational health topics focused on ergonomics and intake processes, social compliance audits and safety and health's role in reasonable accommodation.
Attendees will also participate in interactive roundtable discussions covering occupational health, fleet safety and fatigue driving, effective onboarding, emergency action and emergency response planning under the Clean Air Act, equipment assessments, artificial intelligence applications in workplace safety, lockout/tagout procedures and sanitation safety. In addition, the conference will recognize excellence in workplace safety with the announcement of the 2026 Safety Award winners.
