When the winter doldrums set in after the new year, fresh pork can help consumers break their meal-planning boredom.  A new retail promotion from the National Pork Board is enticing consumers to choose pork to make cold-weather comfort foods like chili, pot roast, casseroles and slow-cooker dishes more exciting.

The promotion runs from January through March 2013 and features materials that carry the tagline “Be Amazing,” a variation of the “Be Inspired” messaging designed to appeal to today’s pork consumer.  In-store elements include a poster, meat case sign, and recipe brochure with five easy-to-prepare pork recipes.

“Our goal with this promotion is to remind consumers that pork tastes amazing in winter comfort foods, and is versatile and simple to cook,” says Patrick Fleming, director of retail marketing for the National Pork Board. “Our in-store posters and meat case signs feature mouthwatering pork meals that consumers can easily create at home using our recipe brochure.”
