Safety training and products provider Wisconsin Safety Council is announcing the winners of the organization’s 31st annual Workplace Safety Awards. The program, sponsored by Wisconsin’s Department of Workforce Development and M3 Insurance, recognizes Wisconsin companies that are dedicated to prioritizing a culture of safety in the workplace and have maintained strong safety records.

One of the winners of the Workplace Safety Awards’ Manufacturing Category was AAMP Supplier Member Pro Smoker of Hartford, Wisc. Joe Hanni, CEO of PS Seasoning and Pro Smoker, said, “We are honored to be recognized by the Wisconsin Safety Council as a Workplace Safety Award Winner. As a third-generation, family-owned and operated company, Pro Smoker takes immense pride in the quality and craftsmanship of our products.

“Our safety program is guided by an unwavering focus on excellence. Unlike fast-paced production environments that prioritize output, we take the necessary time to conduct thorough checks, ensuring both product precision and employee safety. This approach is ingrained in our culture, honoring a nearly 50-year legacy of integrity.

“We are incredibly proud of our entire team, who work tirelessly every day to foster a culture of safety. Our program is not just about compliance; it's about a deep-rooted commitment to doing things right for both our team and our customers.”

A panel of independent safety, health and insurance professionals selected the winners based on company safety records, training programs, safety and health leadership and other accomplishments. The awards were distributed based on company size in three categories: Manufacturing; Agriculture, Transportation, Utilities & Other; and Construction.

“Many employers throughout our state every day demonstrate their commitment to keeping workers safe and healthy on the job, and we’re happy to help recognize their efforts,” said Department of Workforce Development Secretary Amy Pechacek. “These are the kinds of commitments that give Wisconsin employers a competitive edge in attracting and retaining members of our best-in-class workforce. Fewer injuries also mean workers and employers can focus on meeting production schedules and delivering quality products and customer service.”

The Workplace Safety Awards, previously known as the Corporate Safety Awards, were renamed for 2025 to put more emphasis on the team members who promote safety and well-being, highlighting the joint effort required to maintain safe workplaces.

“At M3 Insurance, we believe that a safe workplace is fundamental to the success of any business and the prosperity of our state,” said Chris Halverson, senior director of risk management at M3 Insurance. “We’re honored to sponsor these awards and recognize the companies and individuals who go above and beyond to ensure the safety of their employees and communities.”
